Substance abuse among young people – what guardians should know

What substances are teens using? Are you worried about your child’s experiments with substances or substance abuse? Where can I get help and support? Come, listen, and get answers to your questions. During the evening, participants can ask about anything that concerns them through the Teams chat.

The event will be recorded, and it can be viewed later on the YouTube channel of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

18.05–18.35 Substance abuse among young people in Western Uusimaa. The impact of different substances, Kim Kannussaari, specialist, Ehyt ry.

18.35–19.05 How the wellbeing of young people and the substance abuse appears in different parts of Western Uusimaa. Helena Sipiläinen, substance abuse prevention worker, Lohja youth services and Sauli Taipale, outreach youth worker, Espoo youth services.

19.05–19.25 Substance abuse among young people as seen by the police. Hannu Väänänen, Chief Inspector, preventive special activities, Western Uusimaa Police Department.

19.25–19.45 Practical tips what I can do as a parent to prevent my child from abusing substances. Where can I get help if I am worried?
